Engine misfires have many causes so there can be a lot of things to check to find them. SureTrack community member schoolhouse2021 had a Civic Hybrid in their shop that had misfires on all cylinders, They posed the question to the community, and with the help of fellow community member DAG1365 and others, they were able to resolve the issue quickly.

Vehicle
2008 Honda Civic Hybrid 1.3L

Title
Misfire codes, replaced intake manifold.

Complaint
Customer complains that check engine lights is on and vehicle runs rough.

Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced
Test drove vehicle and it runs a little rough and has misfires in all cylinders. Also, sometimes goes into limp home mode. Had spark plugs and coils replaced at another shop. No codes other than misfire code. What could be problem?

Best Answer from Community Member DAG1365
Smoke intake system for leaks, Check for constant coil/fuel injector trigger, Check that grounds and powers are clean and tight. Check fuel pressure and fuel sample. Check for restricted injector or bad injectors. Check exhaust restriction (back pressure) any other codes in systems.

Cause
No other codes, everything else checks out good but smoke tested intake system and found hairline crack in intake manifold.

Correction
Replaced intake manifold, cleared codes and test drove vehicle. Vehicle runs smooth and codes did not return.
